The former because it won in the fifth and sixth races of the trophy, held this Sunday, March 23, in the waters of Puerto de Mahón, and the latter because it topped the competition comfortably, ending its last race in a tie for second place with Virginia Petrus' 'Sukita'.
It was not an easy day, with winds of up to 20 knots. The Race Committee decided to hold two races on the same Sunday. In the first, 'Alba III' was the fastest, completing the course in 29:25, followed by 'Rupit by Seth' which, after time compensation, finished six seconds behind. Virginia Petrus' 'Sukita' was third, 33 seconds behind.
In the sixth and final race, 'Alba III' was also the fastest to cross the finish line with a time of 31:28. 'Rupit by Seth' was 54 seconds behind the winner, tying with 'Sukita', which shared the podium, demonstrating the high level of equality in the race.
Thus, the final standings placed 'Rupit by Seth' by Mireia García at the top with 8.5 points after winning four of the six races, followed by 'Alba III' by Carlos Pons Vidal, who won the last two races and finished with 18 points. Virginia Petrus' 'Sukita' narrowly missed bronze in the last race, ending with 18.5 points.
After the races, the president of the Club Marítimo de Mahón, Basilio Ferrer, presided over the award ceremony held at the Aqua Restaurant, sponsor of the event, where a fellowship lunch took place among the entire fleet.
