The Consejo de Administración de la Autoridad Portuaria de Baleares (APB) has agreed in their last meeting, to choose a Nautic Assets Developers Team, S.L. as a more favourable solution to the competition of the concession for the management of moorings for small boats of up to eight metres in length in the El Molinar dock.

Nautic Assets Developers Team has additionally proposed a fixed annual amount of 68,000 euros for the improvement of the occupancy and activity fees, which is added to the previous amounts.
The future concessionaire will invest 672,000 euros in the installation of new jetties and other facilities and will manage the concession for a period of 18 years. In addition, it will take over the building that will be used as a bar-cafeteria-restaurant on the ground floor and for social and cultural activities on the first floor.
The APB thus fulfills its commitments to maintain the dimensions of El Molinar, the typology of its boats, to improve the integration of the port with the city, to promote the sporting component and to ensure that the moorings maintain their social character.
In addition, in the same dock, known as caló d'en Rigo, there are 2,500 square meters occupied by a 600 square meter building of new construction, plus an esplanade and slipway that has been ceded to the Balearic Government for the future location of a water sports training center. The APB is waiting to receive the construction project from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports.
As for the building located in the sports dock of El Molinar, the fitting out works will be completed next spring. At the moment, the APB has completed the slower phase of consolidation of the building and has begun to install the installations. The APB's commitment from the outset has been to conserve the structure of the historic building, taking into account the urban planning conditions of the Special Plan for the Port of Palma, the heritage interest of the building derived from its history and its construction typology. The actual state of the structure, much worse than expected, led to a slowdown in the works and an increase in the budget to 1.2 million euros.
Finally, the APB will soon put out to tender, as a matter of urgency, the dredging of the seabed of the El Molinar dock to extract 1,400 cubic meters of rock and sand, pending removal since the completion of the dock works in 2020.
