Today, February 14, the XXX Setmana del Mar was presented at the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni social headquarters. Since the first edition in 1996, a total of 14,490 students will have participated in the Setmana del Mar by the end of this thirtieth edition, with half of them taking part in the "Un dia a la Mar" consolation day.

During the presentation, attended by students from CEIP Can Coix, who are participating in the activity this week, the social, economic, and environmental significance of the Setmana del Mar was emphasized. The program is now a 100% sustainable project in both content and execution. From a social standpoint, the impact on sailing sports and marine-related education has been significant, with thousands of students having taken part.

The event is also economically sustainable, thanks to sponsorship from institutions and businesses. The Setmana del Mar is supported by CaixaBank, Eroski, and Rumbo Norte, along with the Conselleria de Deportes y Juventud del Consell Insular d’Eivissa, the Sant Antoni Town Council, and the Conselleria de Educación of the Balearic Government.

Its environmental sustainability is another key aspect, as science makes up 80% of the educational content, much of which focuses on raising awareness among students so that they develop a commitment to protecting nature, particularly the marine environment, in the future.

To mark the 30th anniversary, an interactive mural has been created, featuring QR codes that link to the Es Nàuticwebsite, where visitors can access data from all editions, as well as videos and photos. Additionally, a special closing event has been announced for April 15, which will take place at the Caló de S’Oli Auditorium.

This edition includes 10 fifth-grade classrooms from schools across the island, totaling 199 students. Throughout the program, students participate in various workshops, learn to sail in the bay, and take excursions to Sa Conillera, the Es Cap Blanc Aquarium, and the island of Formentera, among other activities. The program is currently at its halfway point, with five weeks remaining, followed by the "Un dia a la Mar" event and the closing ceremony.

The presentation was attended by the president of CNSA, José Tur, and was led by the club’s sports director, Enrique Mas. Also present as sponsors were Marilina Ribas, Consellera de Juventut del Consell Insular d’Eivissa; Daniel Sánchez, Sports Councilor of Sant Antoni; Enrique Terol, owner of Rumbo Norte; and Marta Guitián, territorial delegate of CaixaBank in Ibiza and Formentera.
