More than 40 paddlers compete in the III School Sport Canoeing Competition

The beach of S’Arenal hosted this Saturday 20th of January, the third race of the school sport of kayaking, organized by the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni and the Balearic Federation of Kayaking.

This competition should be celebrated at Santa Eulària, but it was decided to move it to the bay of Portmany due to the wind and wave conditions that there were in the East coast of the island.

The race counted with the particiàtion of a total of 44 athletes, 28 from the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni and 16 from the Club Náutico Santa Eulalia. The youngest runners competed over a distance of 1,000 meters, the juveniles 2,000 meters, the children 3,000 meters and the cadets 5,000 meters.

The winners in all categories were: Roy Kikozashvili in Cadet Men A (CNSA), Valentina Rodríguez in Cadet Women A (CNSA), Toni Llorens in Cadet Men B (CNSA), Carla Costa in Cadet Women B (CNSA), Fidel Griffiths in Infantil Men A (CNSE), Liam López in Youth Men B (CNSA), Lara Ribas in Youth Women B (CNSA), Felipe Aita in Alevín Men A (CNSE), Julia Roselló in Alevín Woman A (CNSA), Liam Ferrari in Alevín Man B (CNSE), Alba Guerra in Alevín Woman B (CNSE), Julen Velasco in Benjamín Man A (CNSA), Lucía Amengual in Benjamín Woman A (CNSE), Pau Griffiths in Prebenjamín Man (CNSE) and Zoe Álvarez in Prebenjamín Woman (CNSA).

A total of four events are held throughout the season and the final classification is determined after all of them, with the sum of the three best results of each participant. The last event will be held on 16th of March, in Santa Eulària, and will determine the team that will represent Ibiza in the Balearic Final, which will take place on 18th of May in Fornells (Menorca).
