The second day of the Lanzarote iQFOiL Games was resolved with big waves and wind of about ten knots of intensity that allowed the Race Committee to complete five new races for the men's class, which is now led by the current world champion of the class, the Dutchman Luuc Van Opzeeland, closely followed by the "iqfoiler" of the Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita and future representative of Spain in the next Olympic Games, Nacho Baltasar.

With the aim of trying to make the most of the wind conditions forecast for the morning, the Race Committee informed the fleet that the first start would be brought forward to 10:30 local island time. The first to compete were the yellow and blue groups of the men's iQFOiL, and they did so by completing a total of five races in the course racing format.

While the first day ended in a three-way tie for the lead between Italy's Nicolo Renna, France's Nicolas Goyard and the Netherlands' Kiran Badloe, the second day has caused a shake-up in the overall standings with new sailors occupying the three places on the provisional podium.

With two firsts, a fourth, a second, and a seventeenth that becomes his discard, the Dutchman Luuc Van Opzeeland, current world champion of the class, is the new leader of the overall with a total of 14 points and eight points ahead of the second classified, the sailor of the Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, Nacho Baltasar. The Balearic sailor has sealed a brilliant day in the waters of Lanzarote with 4-1-3-6-5 partials, results that have allowed him to climb up to ten positions in the table and enter the fight for the last title of the season.

The women's fleet added four more races in which Sharon Kantor once again demonstrated her great potential on the race course. With two new partial victories and two thirds that become her discards, Kantor holds on to the lead and closes the qualifying series with a four-point lead over second-placed Katy Spychakov, who assaults second place with three wins, a second and a third.

This Wednesday the Lanzarote iQFOiL Games will once again convene the fleet for the third of the five days of the championship. It will also be the first round of the final series.
