The association explained that while the action at Caló des Moro aimed to symbolically reclaim a natural space that Mallorcans have stopped visiting, this time they have chosen Balneario 6 as a "symbol of binge-drinking beach." "A tourism model that we believe causes us great harm," they criticized.
In this vein, they stated that the idea is to take a "trip to the past" and create a family gathering. "A nod to the Mallorca of the 60s and 70s," they indicated, emphasizing that the action "is not against tourism, but against a tourism model that impoverishes."
To this end, they have launched a graphic campaign inspired by the postcards and advertisements used in the 1960s-1970s, a time when visitors came to Mallorca "to find clean beaches with friendly and welcoming residents." The organization highlighted the civic, peaceful, and festive nature of the action.
Additionally, 'Mallorca Platja Tour' announced that it has constituted itself as an association and has notified the Government Delegation in the Balearic Islands about the event. They emphasized that the movement's goal is "to highlight the situation of residents during the months of peak tourist occupancy."
"Also to remind our political representatives that they do not work solely for the big elites but for all the citizens of this land," they concluded, insisting that they are not against tourists but against the model.
