New phase and new board of directors at the ADN Mediterráneo Sailors' Association

The new Board is already working very actively in representing sailors on the five commissions of the Nautical Table, and in the first quarter of the year, it will present various projects and an ambitious calendar for 2025.

The new Board of Directors of the ADN Mediterráneo Sailors' Association, chaired by veteran sailor Tomeu Albons, has already taken office and is working at full capacity to position the association where it belongs in the nautical institutional landscape of the Balearic Islands and the Mediterranean.

The new executive team is the result of the electoral call last December, following the resignation of the previous president, Alfredo Fuster, for personal reasons after two years in office. The candidacy led by Albons was the only one presented, so it was chosen without the need for elections last December.

The team accompanying Albons in this new phase consists of two members from the outgoing Board, along with new additions. It is a very transversal and varied Board, in which it has been ensured that all types of sailors are represented, regardless of the type of vessel or navigation, origin, and whether or not they own vessels. Thus, Bartolomé Albons will be joined by the rest of the board members, including Juan A. Pallarés, Lorenzo Pons, Xisca Fiol, Pedro Gual De Torrella, Juan Ochogavia, Miguel Bover, Carlos Hellín, Juan Pablo Pradillo, and Daniel Company.

The work of the new Board will be structured around different areas of activity (communication, events, representation before the Administration, loyalty...), and its hierarchical organization will be markedly horizontal and collaborative. At this point, one of their first decisions will be to hire a professional profile capable of performing administrative, commercial, and communicative tasks of the entity.

Indeed, among the first priorities of the new executive team is to reinforce communication efforts, both with the member and with administrations, institutions, and society in general, through all the channels available to ADN, such as social media, email, or Whatsapp. Among other things, the sending of weather alerts and all types of communications of interest to the member will be reinstated.

Likewise, the new Board is already working very actively in representing sailors at the Nautical Table, where ADN has a seat on its five commissions.

On the other hand, an ambitious program of activities, talks, and colloquiums is being prepared, as well as benefits for the member, including discounts at the main businesses related to nautical and navigation. At this point, a new and nominal physical membership card and an updated burgee with the new ADN logo will be issued to members, to strengthen the brand, image, and loyalty strategy of the entity.

Throughout the first quarter of this 2025, ADN will make public the official calendar of the entity for this year, which will include events such as a "Sailor's Party", the renewal of the traditional Members' Dinner, and a broad programming of events, talks, and colloquiums on topics relevant to sailors. Additionally, this year the ADN Cruiser Regatta will be recovered, and a novel Fishing Day will be organized, among other activities.

On the other hand, the new presidency will bet on those lovers of navigation who do not have a vessel, through initiatives such as the creation of a Sailors' Exchange, thanks to which any interested party can contact vessel owners, to strengthen ties and promote their participation in social regattas and other navigation-related events. Finally, to expand the social base of the entity and extend it beyond the current more than 650 members, a reduced fee for those under 30 will be implemented.
