The challenging conditions, with gusty and shifting winds from the north between 10 and 16 knots, heightened the intensity and pushed the participants to give their best.
Johan Soe, 21 years old, led from start to finish, recovering from an early fall to win the Grand Final and claim the title ahead of the Italians Nicolò Renna and Manolo Modena. The sailor from Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, Nacho Baltasar, fell just short of the final.
"This is the first regatta after the Olympics. We assumed it could go poorly after a long vacation and arriving in Lanzarote later due to exams, but we are happy with how everything turned out," said the Mallorcan in statements provided by the organization.
"I finished sixth after a challenging Medal Series day, with many gusts and lots of wind lulls. The important thing is that we have started to get back on track. We have the Spanish Championship in Cádiz, where we will be going all out, and then the Sofia and the World Championships, which are the major goals of this season," he added.
Meanwhile, Wilson, who won a bronze medal in Paris 2024, demonstrated her dominance throughout the week, entering the Grand Final as the leader of the Qualifying Series to proclaim herself champion. The Israeli Shahar Tibi finished second overall, followed by the British Islay Watson and the Polish Anastasia Valkevich.
