VISIT OUR ONLINE TV AND EXPERIENCE THE SEA IN FIRST PERSON, WHEREVER AND WHENEVER YOU WANTFollowing the success of the first edition, held in September 2023, in which more than 150 people participated, the sport and marine conservation once again meet in the municipality of Calvià in a non-competitive event designed for all audiences.
More than 250 people have already confirmed their participation in this approximately 2-kilometer swim around the island of Sa Porrassa, among them the mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual. All participants will be able to complete the course with masks, goggles, fins, and snorkels, or even using paddleboards or kayaks. These facilities help make the event accessible to both experienced athletes and amateurs.
The main objective of this non-competitive swim is to showcase the beauty of the Balearic Sea at Magaluf beach, reclaiming the value of the natural environment of the area, traditionally stigmatized by uncivil tourism. In addition to promoting the conservation of the Balearic Sea by introducing entities and projects that work in this direction, which will also be present at the event. And, above all, to bring the sea closer through sport, promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
The event will begin at eight in the morning with the registration of participants and at nine, the start signal will be given for the registered participants to dive into the sea from Magaluf beach to complete the course. Upon returning from the swim, participants can replenish their energy in the space set up in Plaça Jacques Sasson, where various collaborating entities will offer fruit, snacks, and refreshments, creating a great atmosphere of community and camaraderie after the event.
In this same area, set to music, attendees will be able to learn firsthand about the different marine conservation projects carried out by various entities on the island.
As in the previous year, 20% of the registration fee is allocated to a marine conservation project in Mallorca. For this edition, the donation will be made to the Palma Aquarium Foundation and its conservation project for seahorses ‘’Cavallets de Mar Balears’’.
