This cleaning campaign has continued with the collaboration of beach and coastal type boats, which have managed to keep the coastal waters as free of waste as possible.

By island, Mallorca led the collection with a total of 3,547.48 kilograms (daily average of 114.43 kilograms), followed by Menorca with 1,613.73 kilograms (daily average of 52.06 kilograms), Ibiza with 1,299.23 kilograms (daily average of 41.91 kilograms), and Formentera with 241.40 kilograms (daily average of 7.79 kilograms).

In total, beach type boats have collected 4,184.13 kilograms of waste, with a daily average of 134.97 kilograms. Coastal type boats, on the other hand, have collected 2,517.70 kilograms, with a daily average of 81.22 kilograms.

Plastic was the predominant waste, representing 50.84% of the total, followed by wood with 30.56% and vegetation with 8.43%.

During this month, various special collections were also carried out to address exceptional situations. In Mallorca, several drifting boats, a cow, and a Portuguese man o' war were removed. In Menorca, several logs were collected and a concentration of plastic was managed. In Ibiza, organic material and several poles were removed, while in Formentera remains of a boat were found and hydrocarbons were dispersed.

It is worth noting that during this month of July, there was a low presence of jellyfish in the bathing areas, with the collection of a single Portuguese man o' war in the south of Mallorca.

In total, the Ministry of the Sea and Water Cycle attended to five alerts during this period, three of which were managed in collaboration with the emergency service 112 and Maritime Rescue, while two were reported by institutions and individuals.

The cleaning campaign will continue until September 30, with the goal of keeping the waters of the Balearic coastal area free of waste.
