The charity event for Balearic Islands Day will mark the beginning of the ‘Som de la Mar’ campaign, an initiative that will strengthen the local community’s bond with the Balearic Sea through events and various interactive experiences every weekend of the year at Palma Aquarium.

From February 28 to March 2, residents and visitors will enjoy a special program featuring educational and awareness-raising activities aimed at collecting funds for the Palma Aquarium Foundation, which works on the protection and recovery of marine species.

Residents will have access to this unique experience for a reduced price of 12 euros, with 2€ from each ticket going toward marine conservation. Through this initiative, Palma Aquarium reaffirms its commitment to environmental education and the preservation of the Balearic Sea.

This solidarity celebration will include interactive and educational experiences on marine protection for all ages. Visitors will be able to explore the richness of the Balearic Sea in the Experience Lab, create their own seahorse using recycled materials in the ReciclART workshop, and get up close with the turtles rescued by the Palma Aquarium Foundation. They will also be able to watch the feeding of sharks, participate in games like the Octo Quiz—who will guess correctly, you or the octopus?—or the Cluedo Room Turtles, and discover which animals hold ocean records in the Marine Champions challenge. Additionally, the talk Ecos del Mediterráneo will provide insights into the marine conservation and environmental education projects carried out by the Palma Aquarium Foundation.

The special Balearic Islands Day programming is just the first step in an ongoing commitment to the conservation of the Balearic Sea. Starting in March, Palma Aquarium invites residents and visitors to actively take part in this movement of awareness and action. Every weekend and on public holidays, a special monthly program featuring themed events and interactive experiences will be available, changing topics each month.
