The low wind slowed down the opening of the 49er and 49er FX European Championships in which, without being able to complete the planned programme, the brothers Martin and Jaime Wizner stand out as the first Spaniards to achieve a partial victory in the 49er. The best position in 49er FX is for the Olympians Támara Echegoyen and Paula Barceló, who are tenth overall.

On the edge of the intensity necessary to compete, the FX were the first to take to the water, completing two of the three scheduled races. With two races held that allow to begin to outline the general classification, the Olympians Paula Barceló (Club Nàutic S'Arenal) and Támara Echegoyen are released in the TOP10 with a 12-5 in their partials.
The 49er started next, but the lack of wind was increasingly evident, complicating the race course during the first race and preventing the continuation of the competition. Under these circumstances, Martin and Jaime Wizner were the strongest team in the national 49er fleet, leading the first partial victory with a Spanish stamp. They were followed by Pol Marsans and Juan Manuel Ruiz, seventh; Albert Torres and Elías Aretz 16th; Diego Botín and Florian Trittel 20th and Conrad Konitzer and Antonio Torrado 20th.
Jose Costa, Echegoyen and Barceló's coach, commented on arriving ashore that the day had been marked by "the difficulty of the race course, with pressure differences that were difficult to anticipate. We had made a good strategic plan for both races, which could not be followed in the first race, but it paid off in the second with a fifth place".
The wind conditions seem to want to be better for the second day, with a little more intensity to be able to compete in all the scheduled races.
