Specifically, Alós obtained 167 points in the first round and 129 in the second, with a total of 11 points in the absolute classification, thanks to the fishing and release of nearly a hundred specimens in the eight hours that the competition lasted.
Thanks to this excellent result, Alós has qualified to form part of the Spanish National Team for the World Championship of Deep-sea Fishing, which will take place in October 2025 in Montenegro. The national team will be made up of the top three from the Spanish Championship, including Alós, and three other fishermen who have not yet been selected.
It will be the eighth time that Alós has participated in a World Championship, a competition in which his best result to date was fifth place, achieved a decade ago in Portugal. As for the Spanish Championships, this is his fifth individual medal, including a gold.
"The competition in Torrevieja was very good. It was a catch-and-release fishing mode based on points for each species, without killing any fish. It is a more competitive and sporting modality, and very interesting in terms of conservation", said Alós, who believes that this good result is due to the fact that "it was a very technical championship, in which fishing very finely made the difference, as there were few fish, so I was able to make my technique count, which is quite refined", he said. "I had prepared a lot for it", Alós concludes.
As for the World Championship, he believes that "the Spanish team has options, especially because of the location, as fishing in the Adriatic is very similar to ours, with species that we know. We will have to fish with a lot of finesse and technique, and luck will not be very important, which favours us," he analyzes. "We are aiming for gold for nations, and also for individuals," he concludes.
