The affected fields include Sant Elm, Cap Blanc – Cala Blava, and Formentor in Mallorca; Badia Fornells and Illa d’En Colom – Cala Tamarells in Menorca; as well as Platja de Ses Salines, Badia de s’Alga – S’Espalmador, and Es Caló de s’Oli in Ibiza and Formentera.
PortsIB informs all users that reservations made for August 14 will automatically be canceled. Furthermore, those who had reserved for multiple days will receive a refund for the affected day, while those who had reservations only for tomorrow will receive a full refund. Vessels currently moored at these fields must vacate the buoys before 08:00 AM on the same day.
Additionally, users are advised that the possibility of extending the closure of the buoy fields to August 15 will depend on the evolution of the weather conditions, which will be evaluated in the coming hours. PortsIB recommends all sailors to take extreme precautions and seek shelter in well-protected coastal areas or in secure port facilities until sea conditions improve.
Moreover, PortsIB calls on users of the boat moorings in the ports of the Balearic Islands to check the condition of their moorings in light of the expected storm, in order to prevent damage and ensure that vessels remain in safe conditions during the adverse weather.
This measure is taken with the primary goal of safeguarding the safety of all users of these services against the inclement weather, which could pose risks to both vessels and their occupants.
