With a stand located in Hall 7 (stand 7B08), within the Balearic Islands space, PortsIB not only reaffirms its role in tourism, but also demonstrates its commitment to sustainable and responsible practices.

The Regional Minister for the Sea and Water Cycle, Juan Manuel Lafuente, heads the PortsIB Balearic delegation and on his arrival at FITUR he expressed the Regional Ministry's intention to find a "balance and make prudent use of coastal resources". "We are strengthening our focus on environmental sustainability and the promotion of quality nautical tourism. We must focus our efforts on finding a balance and making prudent use of our resources, preserving and valuing our cultural and natural heritage. This must be the reflection of our port management," he said.

During the event, the minister will take part in various activities, including the presentation of Balearia's 'Fast Ferry Margarita Salas' and the Palma International Boat Show, events that reaffirm the Balearic Islands' commitment to the nautical industry. "Attending FITUR and similar events is essential to keep up to date with the latest trends in modernisation and sustainability of ports worldwide. It is an invaluable opportunity to learn from others and apply those lessons in our own management," Lafuente stressed.

Antoni Mercant, director general of Ports and Maritime Transport, underlined, for his part, during the International Tourism Fair, "the importance of nautical sports and recreation". "It is not only a pillar of our economy, but also an integral part of our identity," said Mercant. "It attracts enthusiasts from all over the world, reflecting the global appeal of our islands and the quality of our facilities and services. Our commitment to this sector goes beyond the economic; it is a commitment to tourism that respects and celebrates our local identity and marine environment," he acknowledged.
