Red carpet for AX8, from the Astondoa shipyards to the big screen

Care for the smallest detail seems to be the secret of the Astondoa shipyard's success, ingredients that they have just shared with the global sailing community and, as if it were the premiere of an international film, they have presented their new Ax8 model, a family cruiser that, as its slogan says, has been "created to be lived".

The Spanish shipyard has already accustomed us to its innovative promotional campaigns, in which it involves all its followers on social networks, and presentations that leave no one indifferent. So the global launch of its new model could not be less. More than thirty national and international media traveled to Santa Pola, Alicante, to learn first-hand about the details of the prestigious Spanish firm's new creation and to live the full Astondoa experience, including part of Passion for the Sea team.

There is no better way to get to know the essence of a product than by discovering its own history. And, from what we have seen, this Ax8 has a lot of history to tell. A story that Astondoa presented to the press and the brand's international representatives, but in a unique and innovative way, in the form of a film at the cinemas in Alicante, as if it were an international premiere, with a red carpet and photocall included. Even the popcorn bucket and drinks were personalized and designed with the image of the latest addition to the Astondoa family. 

The film tells the story of the owner of the Ax8, a family friend with whom they have worked hand in hand to launch this new crossover model from the shipyard. A high-end cruiser with all the attributes to make social life at sea unbeatable, surpassing the standards of spaciousness, lighting, comfort and elegance. The habitability of the new Ax8, with a length of 24.46 meters and a beam of 6.22 meters, makes it unique in its segment. 

After learning how and why the Ax8 was created, it was time to see it in person to confirm that the Astondoa style has been maintained in the design of this new creation. The shipyard has once again collaborated with designer Cristiano Gatto to create the interiors and exteriors of this boat, which preserves the brand's essential lines and contemporary style, enhancing comfort with uncluttered, bright, functional and modern spaces.

Astondoa's new model has a maximum capacity of 18 people, who can comfortably enjoy the crossing on the lower deck, where the VIP cabins are located at the stern and full beam, and the generously sized guest cabin at the bow. Depending on the owner's preferences, one or two more spacious cabins complete the rest area. All have en suite bathrooms, spacious wardrobes and plenty of storage space.

The combination of noble materials, personalized designs and natural tones enhance the boat's luminosity, creating the perfect atmosphere for enjoying any activity on board, family evenings or simply relaxing in the middle of the sea. In short, a boat created to be experienced, which we have been able to see, smell and touch first hand thanks to this perfect initiative.

In addition to admiring the boat's interiors, we have seen this Ax8 in action in a sea trial where we have been able to check the power of its Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engine.
