"Rupit", Mireia Garcia, reigns on the second day of Sa Lliga Hivern

The Race Committee opts for a course within the Mahón inlet that fills the scene with action and skill and hangs the silver and bronze to Carlos Pons Vidal (Alba III) and Aina Triay (Asturcon Quinto).

The sailor of the Club Marítimo de Mahón, Mireia Garcia, was crowned as the fastest and most skillful in the second race of the Sa Lliga Hivern cruising regatta held in the port of Mahón this Sunday. Garcia, aboard 'Rupit', finished with 2:37 advantage with the compensated time over his pursuer and fellow Club member, 'Alba III' of Carlos Pons Vidal, and 3:02 before the 'Asturcon Quinto' of Aina Triay, of the CN Fornells. A total of nine boats took the start over a distance of 5.60 miles, in a course that started inside the port, at the height of Calas Fonts, and was disputed within the roadstead, leaving beautiful images.

The morning started with a breakfast offered by the Sa Lliga restaurant, sponsor of the regatta, for the crews. The fastest boat of the morning, without compensating the times, was the 'Alba III' which finished with 1:04:52. Once compensated, the victory went to the sails of Mireia Garcia with 1:08:11, followed by Carlos Pons Vidal, while the bronze was won by Aina Triay with 1:09:36.

With these results, the general classification is modified placing as new leader the 'Asturcon Quinto' of Aina Triay, with 5 points after having been second and third in the two races sailed. Pepequin Orbaneja's 'Titus', winner of the first race, is in second place with 6 points, after finishing fifth on Sunday. Juan Carlos Gregorio's 'Llamp' is third with 10 points (3+7).

The next event will be on Sunday, February 25th, with the dispute (conditions permitting) of a coastal race.
