The Club Nàutic Sant Antoni hosted a Windsurfer class clinic from April 17 to 19, aimed at windsurfing enthusiasts on the island.
STAY UP TO DATE OF WHAT WE DO AND RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTERThe goal was to raise awareness of this discipline and improve preparation ahead of the International Windsurfer Ibiza Meeting (IWIM), which will take place in the Bay of Portmany from May 2 to 4.
The course lasted three days and was scheduled during the Easter holiday period, taking advantage of the presence of the Ruta de la Sal to give visibility to the event, as was also done during the presentation of the regatta in Barcelona on March 26.
This year marks the fourth edition of the IWIM, which is included in both the international and national Windsurfer class circuits. Over the years, this competition, centered on the beach of s’Arenal, has grown in both participation and representation, with athletes coming from all over Europe. The regatta has a significant social component, as participants arrive with companions, which involves organizing activities in which music and gastronomy play a key role. This program, like the sporting one, requires a major logistical effort from the CNSA.
This time, the competition format includes three days of races. The first will feature a Long Distance race independent of Saturday and Sunday’s regatta, with separate results and prize-giving. This option has been included for the first time, allowing participants to choose the number of days they wish to attend based on their interests, with the opportunity to take part in two competitions within the same event.
