The classrooms participating in this edition are divided some days in two groups, so that they alternate different activities. One of them goes aboard the scientific ship Sea Explorer, where a team of biologists teaches schoolchildren to explore and study the seabed and interpret the biodiversity of the environment of the Portmany Bay. Meanwhile, the other group learns navigation and interpretation of the coast on the Setmana del Mar catamaran. In addition, there are the usual activities and excursions to sa Conillera, Formentera, the Aquarium of es Cap Blanc, and so on.

In this edition, special emphasis is also being placed on ensuring that students know and understand the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations General Assembly in the 2030 agenda, connecting all the activity with their content and even developing training materials in this regard. In this way, important aspects such as the right to receive quality education, gender equality, the need for clean water and adequate sanitation networks, the use of affordable and non-polluting energies, sustainable mobility for the benefit of the climate and the protection of underwater life and terrestrial ecosystems, among others, are highlighted.

In the event, which has led the sports director of the CNSA, Enrique Mas, have participated as sponsors the mayor of Sant Antoni, Marcos Serra; the Councillor for Youth of the Consell Insular d'Eivissa, Marilina Ribas; the delegate of Balearia in Balears, Juan Serra; the manager of Eroski in Ibiza, Antonio Moya; the owner of Rumbo Norte, Enrique Terol, and the territorial delegate in Ibiza and Formentera of CaixaBank, Marta Guitián. Also in attendance were the Maritime Captain, Luis Gascón, and the CNSA manager, Diana Loro.

All participants in the presentation have answered questions from the schoolchildren of CEIP Sant Carles, who enjoy the activity this week, about the characteristics, objectives and history of the Setmana del Mar, and have stressed the role played by the activity to spread the nautical sport and the development of a sustainable and careful navigation with marine biodiversity. They have also been able to learn from the schoolchildren about the educational material used in the activities, have visited the Setmana del Mar boats and have enjoyed a fishing workshop, taught by professional fisherman Nico Vallespir.

In this edition, eleven fifth grade classrooms from schools around the island are participating, with a total of 242 students, who, as every year, are enjoying their intense week of activities, in which they discover the secrets of navigation, biodiversity and ecosystems of the Bay of Portmany and the coast of Ibiza and Formentera. Throughout February and March two days of the inclusive Setmana del Mar will take place, and in April, when the eleven groups conclude, the activity 'Un dia a la Mar' will take place for the students of the classrooms that did not qualify in the access contest, who will go sailing as compensation for their participation in the contest.
