With an investment close to 8 million euros, this technical area has initiated an ambitious expansion project that positions it as the preferred destination for the world's most exclusive superyachts.
STP grows and modernizes. With the expansion of the dry dock, the total surface area will increase from 130,000 m² to 162,000 m², with 102,000 m² on land and 60,000 m² in water.
This strategic expansion will allow STP to meet a growing demand for high-end services for megayachts, thanks to the construction of five new berths capable of accommodating vessels up to 110 meters in length.
The creation of this new maritime infrastructure responds to the need to offer personalized solutions to owners of luxury yachts, who seek top-level facilities and specialized services. According to Joan Rosselló, general manager of STP, "over the years we have received numerous requests for berths for vessels of this size, and with this expansion, we can finally meet this demand."
The first phase of the works is already underway, focusing on the preparation of the new docking area and the installation of the necessary infrastructure to ensure comprehensive attention to superyachts. This investment will not only allow STP to consolidate its leadership in the sector but will also help keep Mallorca as an internationally renowned nautical destination.
In addition to the expansion of the docking areas, STP has placed special emphasis on improving the operational efficiency of its facilities. The reorganization of work areas will optimize processes and reduce response times. The creation of a covered area for mast repairs, as well as the improvement of general infrastructure, will ensure higher quality and faster services.
Aware of the importance of sustainability, STP has integrated efficient energy solutions into its expansion project. The installation of solar panels and energy storage systems will help reduce the carbon footprint of the dry dock and contribute to the preservation of the environment.
This ambitious investment will not only benefit STP but will also have a positive impact on the local economy. The creation of new jobs, the increase in economic activity, and the consolidation of Mallorca as a top-tier nautical destination are just some of the expected benefits. It is estimated that this expansion will generate a significant increase in the annual turnover of the dry dock.
With this expansion, STP reaffirms its commitment to excellence and innovation, positioning itself as a global benchmark in the nautical sector. The new berths will be operational by the end of 2024, while the completion of the rest of the works is planned for the spring of 2025. STP is thus preparing to face the challenges of the future and continue offering the highest quality services to its clients.
