In the institutional presentation, the president of the APB, Javier Sanz, highlighted the commitment of the port organization in its Corporate Social Responsibility policy to unify and reinforce the identity and culture of the ports and to serve as a guide for the rest of the people and companies that operate in its facilities. Sanz has stated that the intention is to make this conference an annual event in Palma and to extend it to the rest of the ports of general interest managed by the APB.

The mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, presided over the presentation ceremony, congratulating the APB on this event, stressing the need to strengthen the ties between the port and the city. Martínez emphasized the close relationship that has historically existed between the port and the city and which must be maintained. At the end of the speeches, representatives of the twenty-five collaborators of the conference posed for a photo.

Party in the port

The party in the port started punctually at eleven in the morning in fourteen different places along the port of Palma. There were storytellers, sports, driving lessons for the little ones in road traffic circuits, birds of prey were flown in falconry exhibitions, and children's Port Police officer certificates were handed out, among many other activities.

What was most successful during the first few hours was being able to go on board boats and ships, such as the excursion boats, the Balearic Islands in the workshop for master boatmen, the SOCIB ship, the Port Police patrol boat, the Club de Mar kayaks and the fishing boats of the Cofradía de Pescadores de San Pedro.

The party continues from five o'clock until late at night with live and canned music on the Golondrinas pier, and open-air cinema and concerts on the Old Pier as part of the Wipe Out-Mallorca Surf Festival 2023. More information at viuelport.es.
