In total, more than a thousand participants of all ages, between sailors and swimmers,  next to their families, friends, members of the club and nautical sport lovers, have crowded the club since nine o’clock in the morning of the day with most activities in the 59th edition of the Great Day of Sailing - Bufete Frau, which has concluded with a crowded barbecue.

Starting with the light sailing, in line with the previous journeys, it was possible to celebrate all the planned races thanks to the weather conditions characteristic of the excellent ‘embat’ typical of the Bay of these days.

More than sailing, at the 59th Great Day of Sailing - Bufete Frau it has again celebrated the emblematic route for the swimming race in open seas. The XX Travesía Sa Milla CNA - Cala Blava is a social, sporty and solidarity event launched two decades ago by the club with the encouragement of Tolo Bonet, legendary figure in the swimming world and one of the most distinguished and loved by the CNA, the benefits will go to the association ELA Balears. The race started at 9.30h at the beach of Es Caló and has consisted of a crowded swimming route from the CNa until the beach of Cala Blava, which has been celebrated in a festive and solidarity way. It has been participated by 415 swimmers of all ages and profiles, from amateurs to professionals and masters, who have swum a nautical mile, that is 1.852 meters to be exact, between the beach of Es Caló and Cala Mosques. The event took place without incident or mishap and in a cheerful atmosphere of fellowship, sportsmanship and solidarity. Everything went off without a hitch thanks to the good mood of all the participants, the work of the club team and the collaboration of the Llucmajor Town Hall, Bufete Frau, Las Sirenas Restaurant, BN Mallorca and Bel Menjadors.

In terms of the traditional sailing, from 13.00h took place a coastline race of lateen rig sailing of the modalities of Regatta, Llaüts and Open. With a coastline route between S’Arenal and Cala Gamba, the dozen of boats participated in sailing in memory of Biel Rosselló, member of the CNA past away a couple of years ago who was vice president of the club during eight years, director of the Federació Balear de Vela, sailor in a number of categories, collaborator of races of the CNA, and the last years, secretary of the Balearic Lateen Sailing.

As far as social sailing is concerned, a coastal race in the Cruiser category was held from 13:30 hours, in which around twenty boats took part, competing in ORC.

At the end of the event, a massive barbecue was held which brought together the sailors and swimmers with their families, friends and club members, in a friendly atmosphere, with ice cream courtesy of La Menorquina for all who were received with joy after a hot day.

Looking ahead to the day, the weather conditions, marked by an orange alert, announces a big storm with rain and wind, the club is therefore evaluating the possibility of holding the races scheduled after 13h on Sunday.
