The 6M class returns to Club Nàutic S'Arenal

The Club Nàutic S'Arenal (CNA) is hosting from Thursday 23rd to Saturday 25th of May the first edition of the Arenal Cup, a new regatta created by the 6M class fleet which, for the second consecutive year, has chosen the club as a training base for the next World Championship of this prestigious class.

The Arenal Cup 1 will be only the first of three competitions under this name that will take place in the waters of the CNA in the coming weeks. Arenal Cup 2 will take place from 14th to 16th of June and Arenal Cup 3 at the beginning of July, and each one of them will have its own winners.

This is the second consecutive year that great champions of the prestigious 6M class have chosen the CNA for their training. Last year, 7 boats from 5 different nationalities (Spain, Sweden, Germany, United Kingdom and Finland), with a crew of 5 made the club their training base, competing in regattas such as the Trofeo Princesa Sofía or Palmavela and also participating, in CNA waters, in the Marinepool Summer Cup regatta.

 "The club is the ideal place for us, with the best access to the Bay of Palma, 10 minutes from an airport very well connected to any country in Europe, ideal facilities, conditions and infrastructure and, above all, with an exquisite, familiar and very friendly treatment," said Markus Wieser, crew member of one of the boats.

"It is a very technical class, as there is a lot of freedom to optimise the boat. Within the rating formula, a lot of modifications are allowed," says Wieser. So, in the end, one of the characteristics of this class is that the boats are very different from one another, in terms of cockpits, bows, sterns, etc.
