APB President Javier Sanz and his team have met with the local council and various sectors of the port community to listen, learn, and act on the issues most affecting the port. Discussions mainly focused on public investment in the port of Alcúdia and commitments from the port authority.
Other key initiatives include improving the energy efficiency of public lighting, with a budget of one million euros, and making the Alcúdia port terminal energy self-sufficient at a cost of 1.4 million euros.
Following meetings with the port communities of Maó, Eivissa, and La Savina, the APB continues its round of talks with the second general interest port on the island of Mallorca under its management. For Javier Sanz, this effort to "maintain a fluid and constant dialogue with the port communities aims to gauge the current situation of the ports and respond to the needs of the various sectors."
For Alcúdia's mayor, Fina Linares, this meeting, "along with the quarterly coordination meetings, shows a clear willingness for collaboration between the council and the APB to continue improving our port and its surroundings." Linares highlighted the installation of more than 50 waste bins along the seafront, as well as improvements in maintenance and lighting, "and other actions that will undoubtedly improve the quality of life for our residents."
In addition to the municipal representatives, the APB has met with other entities directly linked to the port, such as the fishermen's guild, shipping agencies, Alcudiamar, port pilots, the Association of Restaurateurs, and APB staff assigned to the Alcúdia port.
