In the next three months Marina Rubicón will host the closing of the Olympic windsurfing season and the fourth edition of the Lanzarote International Regatta, an event that this year includes the iQFOiL, 49er and 49erFX world championships.

After the success of those held last January, the athletes wanted to return and from the 10th to the 15th of December Marina Rubicón will host the Lanzarote iQFOiL Games, with the participation of more than 160 windsurfers from 35 countries from the Asian, American and European continents.

Last year's champion, Pilar Lamadrid, number 2 in the world ranking, will not miss the event, as well as the Balearic Nacho Baltasar (CNR), Oscar Casas (CMSAP), Bernat Tomas (CNA) and Andrea Torres (CNA).

On the other hand, in its fourth edition, the Lanzarote International Regatta slightly changed its format in this Olympic year 2024. Thus, instead of being held for seven consecutive days in February, it will be held on different dates, hosting different championships and an extensive calendar of regattas for training purposes.

The first date to mark on the calendar is the 26th of January to the 3rd of February. Thus, Lanzarote will once again mark the start of the iQFOil season in 2024, with the celebration of the World Championship of the class.

In addition to being a World Championship, the Lanzarote event will be a key event for many countries that are playing for a place in Paris 2024. This is not the case of Spain, which already has the ticket to be in the Olympic regatta field in Marseille. The Spanish representative in the men's iQFOiL at the Olympic Games will be the sailor from Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, Nacho Baltasar, while in the women's iQFOiL, Pilar Lamadrid and Nicole Van der Velden will be competing for the place.

This world championship event will be followed by a new one, from the 4th to the 10th of March. On this occasion it will be the turn of the men's 49er and women's 49erFX double-handed classes, in which there will once again be an important fight to seal passports for Paris 2024, although Spain already has a place and confirmed crews: Diego Botín and Florian Trittel in 49er and Támara Echegoyen and Paula Barceló in 49erFX.
