Although this figure represents a decrease of 15.91% compared to 2023, the archipelago retains its position as the region with the highest market share nationally, representing 18% of the total Spanish market, the same percentage with which 2023 was closed.

The national nautical market has closed the year with 5,027 registrations, a fall of 15.9% compared to the previous year, reflecting a generalized contraction in all segments and provinces. Despite the negative trend identical to that of the rest of Spain, the Balearic Islands continue to stand out as the main engine of the sector.

Other prominent provinces have been Barcelona, with 550 registrations (10.94%) and Madrid, with 345 (6.86%), located, respectively, in second and third place in market share. However, neither has come close to the figures of the Balearic Islands, which remains the undisputed benchmark of the sector.

In the rental vessel segment, the Balearic Islands consolidate their hegemony. Of the 904 registrations recorded in the Islands, 59% correspond to the charter market, accumulating 27.27% of all national registrations destined for this use, despite the decrease of 21.88% recorded throughout the year. This leadership, followed by Barcelona (11.33%) and Girona (8.73%), reinforces the strategic importance of charter for the Balearic nautical economy.

Despite the declines recorded in 2024, the Balearic Islands show remarkable resilience against the market slowdown. The prominence of nautical charter in the archipelago and its position as a preferred destination underline the potential for recovery and growth for the next year, reinforcing the leadership of the Spanish nautical market.
