In the first half of the year, the Balearic nautical market saw a year-on-year decrease of 12.26%, according to data from the "Recreational Boat Market Report. January-June 2024," published by ANEN based on data provided by the Directorate General of Merchant Marine.

Specifically, during the first six months of 2024, 601 recreational boats were registered in the Balearic Islands, compared to 685 registered by the end of June last year.

This figure contrasts with the 20% decline recorded during the same period across Spain, where registrations dropped from 3,811 to 3,047 boats. This explains why, despite the decline in registrations, the Balearic Islands have increased their national market share from 17.95% in June 2023 to the current 19.72%.

Thus, the archipelago solidifies its position as the leading province in the national nautical market, followed distantly by Barcelona with 10.8%, and Girona with 7.19%.

Regarding the rental market, the boats registered in Spain for this use between January and June show a decrease of 22%, in line with the overall market trend. Of the total boats registered up to June, 62% are for private use, and 38% are for nautical charter, according to ANEN data.
