The Spanish nautical market closed the month of January with a total of 193 recreational boat registrations, representing a 9% decrease compared to the 212 recorded during the same period in 2024.
FOLLOW US ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILES AND RECEIVE UPDATES FROM "PASSION FOR THE SEA"Despite the decline, the rate of decrease has slowed compared to January of the previous year, when the drop was 19.7%, according to the "January 2025 Registration Report", prepared by the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN) with data from the Directorate General of Merchant Marine.
The Balearic Islands remain the province with the highest number of registrations (23 units), although they recorded a 20.7% drop compared to January 2024, when 29 boats were registered. Despite this decline, the archipelago continues to lead the market, accounting for 11.9% of all registrations in Spain. It is followed by Alicante and Barcelona, which are tied with 22 registrations each, representing an 11.4% market share.
Regarding the rental market, 51 boats were registered for this use in January 2025, compared to 62 in the same month last year, reflecting a 17.7% decrease.
As in the general market, Baleares leads in rental boat registrations, although it also experienced a 17.7% decline. In the rental sector, Baleares recorded 18 registrations, representing a 35.3% market share, followed by Alicante with 7 registrations (13.7%) and Las Palmas with 5 (9.8%).
