A total of 201 sailors representing 35 countries are taking part in the European Under 21 Championship in the Olympic classes ILCA 6 and ILCA 7, which is being held under the organization of the Reial Club Nàutic Port de Pollença (RCNPP).

The local ILCA 7 fleet includes the Spanish champion in the sub21 category, Menorcan David Ponsetí (Club Nàutic Ciutadella), the national runner-up, Ibizan Jagoba Huércanos (Club Nàutic Sant Antoni) and Javier Seguí, representative of the Reial Club Nàutic Port de Pollença. In the women's category, the Mallorcan Marga Perelló, from Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, arrives at the regatta as the current sub21 Spanish champion.

The regattas begin this Monday, the 18th of March, and will finish on Saturday the 23rd of March. A maximum of 12 races are scheduled, two per day, which will determine the winners of the Under 21 continental title.

The ILCA 7 (men) and ILCA 6 (women) are two of the Olympic classes that will be present at the Paris 2024 Games. Some top-level athletes who will be in France next summer will take part in the Mallorcan event, although most of those registered are juniors and have their sights set on Los Angeles 2028.
