The Balearic sailors face the World Youth Sailing Championships in Brazil

This Monday begins in Armação dos Buzios, Brazil, the 52nd edition of the Junior World Championship, in which Spain will be represented by 16 top sailors, including 5 from the Balearic Islands.

Among the outstanding Balearic sailors are María Perelló and Marta Cardona, from Club Nàutic S'Arenal, defending champions, who arrive as favorites in the women's 420, ready to win the third title for Spain and their second consecutive world title. The Mallorcan duo won the gold medal in 2022, continuing the title that the sailor from Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, Neus Ballester and the one from Club Nàutic S'Arenal, Andrea Perelló won in 2021.

Also competing and representing Spain in IQFoil until next Friday 15th of December will be the sailor from Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, Ramón Villalonga. The sailor from Club Nàutic S'Arenal, Bárbara Winau will be competing in the women's category. The Balearic representation will be closed by the sailor from Club Nàutic Ciutadella, David Ponseti in ILCA 7.
