"Our goal was to reach the semifinals and having achieved it, we feel very relaxed because now what remains is to enjoy. We are very happy and now let them take away our danced joy, Friday is now a gift."
The trimmer María Cantero was also very pleased with the qualification. "We are very happy because it has been a very complicated day and we have managed to save it. We had some of the most complicated conditions you can have as a sailor with a very changing land wind. You could go from 7 to 15 knots suddenly and you had to keep your head out all the time to be able to catch the pressures. Seeing the progression we have, I think we can continue to push and not stop dreaming, but with our feet on the ground we are happy to reach the semifinals because they are more days of training."
The Sail Team BCN, which includes sailors from Club Nàutic S'Arenal, Paula Barceló and Silvia Mas, the sailor from Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, Neus Ballester, and María Cantero from Gran Canaria, has once again exhibited tremendous consistency to prevail in the particular duel it had with Australia throughout the day to secure the semifinal spot. The Swedish team, which is the only one that has had a boat of its own for training, and the Dutch will join the Sail Team BCN in the four semifinal races, which will be held next Friday, October 11.
The other three rivals who will compete in the semifinals will come from Group A, in which the teams linked to the challenges of the absolute America's Cup compete. Group A was also scheduled to sail this Tuesday, but the breakage of the boat shared by Canada and Great Britain has forced their races to be postponed until Thursday, when we will know the names of the three qualifiers.
