The Balearic Superyacht Forum to reward the most sustainable and innovative startup

As part of The Balearic Superyacht Forum, the first international forum for superyachts in Spain, to be held on the 24th and 25th of April in Palma de Mallorca, the Balearic Marine Cluster is presenting its first startup competition: the Blue Startup Pitching Competition 2024.

Innovation and sustainability play a key role in the development of a competitive nautical industry, and it is in this context that the Blue Startup Pitching Competition was created; to identify and support startups with a project with high growth potential and a disruptive value proposition in the field of the blue economy.

The competition will take place on the 25th of April at 15.00h in the Auditorium of Palma, where the five finalist startups will have the opportunity to present their project and strategic plan to an audience of more than 300 potential investors from the nautical sector and a jury of 10 experts with a great track record in the world of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The winning startup will be selected by the public and the jury. Each startup will have 5 minutes to present its project and defend its candidacy for the first prize, which includes: a cheque for 5,000 euros, a stand at Palma International Boat Show 2025, twelve months' subscription to the Balearic Marine Cluster, twelve months' subscription to Yachting Ventures and twelve months' mentoring through the acceleration programme of the CAIB's Directorate General for Enterprise.

In addition, all finalists will benefit from a twelve-month subscription to the Balearic Marine Cluster and a diploma accrediting their participation in the Blue Startup Pitching Competition 2024.

The positive impact of the product or service on the environment, the development of a real business model, defined and proven in the market, or the scalability of the project will be some of the criteria to be considered in the selection of the winner.

The competition is open to all startups registered in Spain whose activity, product or service is directly related to the blue economy.

The registration period is open until Friday 15th of March 2024 at 23.59h.
