Before the presentation, an in-person and online meeting was held, in which all the parties involved in and organizing this new circuit were present: Alex Figueras (Club de Surf Formentera), Saul Gabarro and Carmen Zaragoza (Real Club Náutico Port de Pollença), Alberto Vadell (future secretary of the class in the Balearics and technical director of the Real Club Náutico Port de Pollença), Ferran Muniesa (manager of CN S'Arenal), Alex Durán (technical director CN S'Arenal), Gonzalo Pérez Lago (circuit advisor and Principal Race Official, specialist in free rigging and foils), David Alvelino (promoter of Wingfoil in Ibiza and president of Club Akarai), Miquel Bosch (CN Colonia Sant Pere, interested in organizing future races) and Enrique Mas (sports director CNSA). Miguel A. Bover (Technical Director CN Sa Ràpita) was unable to attend, as Sa Ràpita is currently hosting the Spanish Techno Cup and IQFoil Junior, but, like the other participants, he is committed to the future of the sport in the Balearic archipelago. The next step will be to activate the sport in Menorca, where currently the athletes are not affiliated to any club and practice the sport independently.
The Balearic circuit will be a pioneer in the national territory and will be an open type, accepting sailors from other communities and countries. It will have a generic announcement and sailing instructions for all the races and the information will be centralized on the website of the Balearic Sailing Federation, where participants and interested parties will be able to consult all the details of the circuit.
Wingfoil is a modality on the rise that is shaping up to be Olympic in the face of the 2028 games, replacing Formula Kite. The RFEV promotes the Spanish Cup and Championship, where in 2024 the CNSA will be the organizer of its racing or slalom modality. It also contemplates freestyle and waves, which this time goes to the Canary Islands. Every day there are more and more people addicted to this attractive modality and the Balearic Sailing Federation is working to launch its competitive side, as another class with all the rights it entails in terms of qualifying systems and competition formats.
The CNSA is also working on the training of technical staff to start the promotion among young sailors as soon as possible. At the moment, four adults make up the Es Nàutic Wingfoil fleet: Enrique Mas, Felipe Cornet, Toni Planas and Maria Costa.
