13th January 2025 by Agencies

The "Blaumarina," skippered by Miquel Enseñat, has won the first race of the RCNP A2 circuit, organized by the Real Club Náutico de Palma. The boat overcame harsh weather conditions in the Bay of Palma and achieved a lead of 2:43 minutes in corrected time over the "Histolab," skippered by Juan José Torres, who took second place. The "Mestral Fast," skippered by Jaume Morell, completed the provisional podium, 3:46 minutes behind the winner.

The race was contested over a course of 17.5 nautical miles with sustained northeast winds of 20 knots, gusts over 25, and waves up to two meters high. These demanding conditions forced the boats, crewed by only two people, to sail with reefed sails.

Of the 13 sailboats initially registered, only 7 started due to the challenging weather report. Among them, the "Huayra" was forced to retire after suffering a mainsail break.

The RCNP A2 Trophy marks the start of the cruising season for the Real Club Náutico de Palma. The next races will take place on February 2, April 6, September 28, and November 23, 2025.

On the other hand, the first round of the RCNP Series for the Snipe and OK Dinghy classes took place on Saturday, January 11. The day consisted of two races. The provisional leaders are Jorge Díaz and Jaime Puigserver in Snipe, and Javier Estarellas in OK Dinghy.
