Palma will host the first edition of the Ciutat de Palma Canoeing Trophy on October 12, a competition that will bring together 32 international-level canoeists (16 men and 16 women) for an intense day of racing at the Parc de la Mar Lake, beneath Palma’s cathedral.

Organized by the Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP), the Trophy will be a unique challenge focused exclusively on a sprint race with a turn, over a distance yet to be revealed, testing the participants' skill and endurance. This unique format promises excitement and spectacle in a prime location in the city, visible to all citizens who wish to attend.

Among the participants, who will be announced soon, will be Olympic and world-level canoeists, guaranteeing elite competition and maximum excitement for canoeing fans.

So far, as explained by Carlos Borrás, director of the organizing committee, the participation of the three best paddlers from the Real Club Náutico de Palma (Alex Graneri, Carla Vey, and Lluc Matas), all of whom have international championship experience, is confirmed. “Soon we will reveal other names of true legends in canoeing,” adds Borrás.

Nelo Canoes, as the main sponsor, and the City Council of Palma, through its institutional sponsorship, support this initiative, which aims to secure a spot on the local calendar of major international sports events. The event is also supported by Paddle Games.

The Real Club Náutico de Palma and the City Council of Palma reaffirm their joint commitment to high-level sports with this event, contributing to the promotion of the city as a host for competitions that attract both participants and local and international spectators. Manu Fraga, director of the RCNP, points out that, after 72 years of the Ciutat de Palma Sailing Trophy (the oldest sporting competition in the Balearic Islands), "it was time for a major canoeing competition to bear the name of our city."
