The cleaning service for the ports of Mallorca begins

Ports de les Illes Baleares (PortsIB) has awarded the contract for the cleaning service of the facilities and public domain of the directly managed ports of Mallorca.

The awarded company, Servicios Industriales Reunidos, S.A.U., will be responsible for the service to the ports of Mallorca for a period of 24 months, with a total budget of 2,142,448.78 euros, VAT included.

The cleaning service will be carried out at the ports of Andratx, Sant Elm, Sóller, Valldemossa, Pollença, Es Barcarés, Cala Rajada, Cala Bona, Porto Cristo, Portocolom, Portopetro, Cala Figuera, Colònia de Sant Jordi, and S’Estanyol. This service aims to maintain the port facilities in optimal conditions, both in terms of safety and environmental sustainability, contributing to better resource management and a quality experience for users.

The contract, which includes the possibility of extension for a maximum of five years, will start on October 1, 2024, and end on September 30, 2026.

In addition to ordinary cleaning, the contract includes special environmental measures, ensuring the proper management of waste generated at the ports. The service includes the segregation and collection of waste according to recycling regulations, and in the case of Cala Figuera, the company will have to ensure the transportation of recyclable waste to the points designated by the city council until the door-to-door collection is implemented.
