The Club de Vela Port d’Andratx honors its sailors in its traditional Nit de la Mar

The sailors of the different sections of the Club de Vela Port d’Andratx (CVPA) has gathered this Saturday to celebrate their traditional Nit de la Mar. A night dedicated to the nautical sport, in particular cruise sailing, in which the club points out the brilliant results achieved by the team of light sailing, inclusive sailing and canoeing during the season of 2022-2023 and for all of the sailors that are part of it.

The traditional Nit de la Mar, that this year has celebrated its 26th edition, has gathered more than two thousand people in the facilities of the club, as well as the awards ceremony, they were able to enjoy a dinner on the Club's esplanade.

The award-giving ceremony started after a speech of the vice president, José Pascual Tortella, that has shown proud of the great results accomplished this year, congratulating to all of the athletes of the Club. The president of the CVPA, Ginés Martínez Pina, was in charge of doing the award-giving ceremony.

Among the winners stands  out the team of inclusive sailing , with Violeta del Reino and Sergi Roig as champions of España Hansa Individual, as well as Pep Plomer and Pau Toni Homas, champions of España Hansa 303 dobles. Also there were mentions of the merits of Jana Mestre, sub champion of España Hansa 303 individual, Carlos Angulo and Ramón Gutiérrez.

In the category of light sailing it was mentioned the merits of the young Mario Plomer, Jago Huércanos, Dani Giménez, Karol Krupski and Javier Plomer, champion of Spain in the category ILCA 6; meanwhile in the canoeing it has been awarded the work of the sailor Josep Joan Cifre, Andreu Ferrer, Margalida Alemany, Alba Fernández, Carla Revilla, María Reus, Nuria Ferrer, Maximilian Flaska, Héctor Sielva y Víctor Sobc.

During the evening the prizes were also awarded for the flagship cruising regattas of the CVPA, such as the XLVI Aquiles de Vita Trophy, XLI Two Islands Trophy, XXVI President's Trophy and XXVI Two Seasons League.

On the other hand, the pictorial work made by the artist and Club sailor Luca Monzani has been delivered to the winners of the highest number of races throughout the League in its class, which in this edition has been extended to all the participating categories: Robert Rauhofer, owner of "Rosinante"; Silvia Cabrera, owner of "Just For Fun", and Scott Beattie, owner of "Just The Job".

The golden casp of the Nit de la Mar was given to a special honor of three shipowners with a wide experience and represent the very significant values that the club follows: motivation, improvement, social and sport values.

They are Pedro Vaquer, owner and skipper of "Nadir", and Scott Beattie, owner and skipper of "Just The Job". Both achieved to proclamate champions of the 41st Copa del Rey in their respective categories. Also Hans Peter Woelfert, skipper of “Settebello”, to continue being an inspiration for the young sailors of light sailing and of the team of inclusive sailing, whose athletes have been part of the crew during all the season and as well competing in the Copa del Rey, accomplishing to finish among the ten first teams in their category.
