This Saturday, August 10, the waters of Alcúdia Bay hosted the Mare de Déu d’Agost Regatta, organized by Club Nàutic Can Picafort. The event gathered more than fifty cruising and dinghy sailing boats and was contested with a gentle but stable wind that delayed the start by nearly an hour.

YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!With the anemometer showing maximum intensities of just 8 knots, the planned route for the RI cruisers was a coastal journey from Can Picafort to Aucanada. However, due to the low wind pressure, the course for the RI2 class was shortened, ultimately following the same 7.4 nautical mile route as the RI3.
In the cruiser category, the winners were: “Marinette” from Alcudiamar in RI2 and “Kresal” from Club Nàutic Can Picafort in RI3.
In dinghy sailing, the victories went to the following sailors: Alfonso Jiménez (Club de Vela Port d’Andratx) in Optimist A, Sonsoles Gámez (Club de Vela Port d’Andratx) in Optimist B, Mateu Pons (Club Nàutic Can Picafort) in Optimist C, Rafel Pons (Club Nàutic Colonia de Sant Pere) in Optimist D, Laura Fullana (Club Nàutic Portocolom) in Laser 4.7, Joan Fluixa and Lorenzo Baldi (Club Nàutic Can Picafort) in RS Zest, and Adrià Vallorí and Angel Jiménez (Club Nàutic Serranova) in Laser Pico.
The award ceremony took place at the headquarters of Club Nàutic Can Picafort, where the winners were honored in a festive atmosphere that successfully closed the day of competition.
