The Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita honors Nacho Baltasar

The Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita has organized a reception at the facilities of the club to honor the sailor Nacho Baltasar, after achieving the spot for Spain in the following Olympic Games of Paris 2024 in the category of IQFoil.

Nacho Baltasar has competed against the best sailors in the Championship of the World disputed this past week at the Hague, where they have been awarded 107 places by countries for the coming Olympic Games of Paris 2024.

The “iqfoiler” arrived at the Hague with a lot of energy and eagerness, after an excellent performance at the Test Event of Marsella where he finished in general fifth place. With that good feeling and the idea of getting an entrance for Spain for the Paris 2024, Baltasar started the World Championship with a successful first day, positioning himself in the Top5 with two first and a ninth. During the second journey, the sailor of Sa Ràpita maintained firm his position in the general classification, but in the third journey it was very hard and complicated which made him go down in position getting to eleventh place. The wind did not work well with the race during the last day, due to this the races of the categories were canceled and the “iqfoiler” did not have the opportunity to get a higher position in the cñasification, finishing in eleventh place, place that gives Spain the precious pass to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

This way, Nacho Baltasar signs a new highlight in the sport history and the Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, winning at only 18 years of age the country's place in the first competition in which they were competing. For this reason, from the club they have organized a reception to pay tribute to him with a crowd.

The “iqfoiler” has already received a warm welcome at the airport after racing a the Hague, where they were waiting families, friends and colleagues from the club, but now also, families, authorities, representatives of the Balearic Sailing Federation, friends, members of the board of Directors of the Club, members of the racing team, as well as press and curios people who have been crowding around the club's facilities have paid tribute to Nacho Baltasar, who has thanked everyone for their support and affection.
