The CNA sailors arrive in Alicante ready to conquer the 420 World Championship.

From this Friday, 21st July, until next Saturday, 19th July, more than 500 sailors will compete in the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante in the 420 Class World Championship, the cradle of future Olympic sailors.

The facilities of "El Tiro" will host the 280 boats of the 560 participants, who will be accompanied by their more than 60 coaches, making up a total of 22 national teams.

The Club Nàutic S'Arenal crews formed by Marisa Vicens and Marina Borras, Nicola Sadler and Sofía Cavaco, María Perelló and Marta Cardona, Marc Mesquida and Ramón Jaume, and Ian Walker and Fernando Barceló, are part of the Spanish delegation that has travelled to Alicante to compete in this World Championship, in three categories, the Mixed Absolute World Championship, the Women's Championship and the U17 Championship.  

We must remember the successful track record of the tandem formed by Perelló and Cardona, sailors who were crowned champions in the Junior World Championship held last year in The Hague and runners-up in the 420 World Championship held in 2022 in Hungary, so they arrived in Alicante eager to get back on the podium.

Another crew that has been working hard all year and is hungry to get to the top is Ian Walker and Fernando Barceló, who had a great European in early July in Poland, finishing ninth. Walker also won bronze at last year's 420 World Championships with his partner Finn Dicke.

In this way, the bay of Alicante will gather during the 9 days of the Championship a spectacle of boats, spread over two racecourses in front of the seafront.
