STAY UP TO DATE OF WHAT WE DO AND RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTERAbout 70 sailors from the mentioned classes, from various clubs of the Islands, competed in the Techno Sub 15 and Sub 13 and IQ Sub 17, Sub 19 Male, and Sub 19 Female categories.
The competition took place over three days of racing, from Friday to Sunday, on a single race course. The Club Nàutic S'Arenal Trophy started on Friday with wind conditions between 6 and 10, allowing the Techno 293 to complete three races and the IQ Foil four slalom heats. "The conditions were perfect for the Techno, while for the IQ Foils the wind was just enough, although they managed to save the day," explains Joan Sabater, sports director of the CNA. "In Techno, it is worth noting the performance of Joan Servera, who won three first places on the first day. Throughout the competition, there was an exciting struggle between this sailor and Biel Martorell, who dominated the race, always close together and fighting to win the heats," he adds.
On Saturday, the wind did not exceed 11 or 12 knots and was marked by instability, which did not prevent the IQ Foil from completing another 4 slalom heats. The scare of the day occurred at the end of the last heat, when a sailor from this class fainted in the middle of the sea. An ambulance from 061 was quickly required, taking the athlete to the hospital. "It seems it was an anxiety attack," says Sabater. "And a scare for everyone, because we were all shocked," he adds.
The third and final day of racing was marked by a southwest wind with a little more intensity than the other days, but insufficient to do Course format in IQ Foil, so the fleet continued doing slalom, ending this class championship with 10 races. The Techno 293 did 3 heats on Sunday, ending the championship with a total of 9 races.

To accommodate nearly a hundred athletes, the Club Nàutic S'Arenal, which already has experience organizing large local, national, and international sports events such as the Trofeo Princesa Sofía or the Gran Día de la Vela - Bufete Frau, arranged the esplanade and the small boatyard over the weekend. "Since we have many club sailors competing abroad, we were able to free up space from the small boatyard and the esplanade to accommodate the 70 boards and sails of the participants in the Trophy," points out the race team coordinator, Fátima Reyes.
The Club Nàutic S'Arenal (CNA) Trophy, the Balearic Championship of IQ Foil and Techno 293, concluded this Sunday with the corresponding award ceremony for the winners of each category. This competition was crucial for the sailors, as in addition to the local title, a spot for the national championships was also at stake.
In addition to the races and competition at sea, the sailors enjoyed the atmosphere and camaraderie on land, sharing experiences with athletes from nautical clubs across the Balearic Islands.
