With seven meters long, the J/70 is probably the most numerous monotype in the world and it does not let any followers win from its arrival at Spain in 2015 for its velocity, agility and stability. Among the nine teams registered this year the current Spanish champion will not be absent, the “Hang Ten” of Mon Cañellas, or the fourth ranked in the last World Championship of the category, “Patakín” of Luis Albert.

From the category J/70, Ricardo Terrades assures that "In Mallorca an incipient fleet is being created, driven by the fact that Palma will host the world championship next year". And from the 14th to the 21st of September of 2024 the J/70 World Championship, world championship of the category, will be held in the bay of Palma.

The edition of 2022 of the J/70 World Championship, celebrated in Monaco, gathered 90 teams and 23 nationalities; the world cup 2023, which will be celebrated the 30th of October to the 5th of November at St.Petersburg Yacht Club of Florida, United States, counts on with 95 teams pre-registered.

“Everybody want to sail in the Bay of Palma, and the World Cup, and the fact that the World Cup is being held on this water is excellent news", says Terrades. “All that is sailed at Palma is a positive experience towards the World Championship, so being in this Copa del Rey is an excellent opportunity to continue adding hours of sailing on this magnificent regatta course".
In the program of the category Herbalife J70 at the 41 Copa del Rey MAPFRE will consist of a maximum of six races in the Preliminary Series (from the 1st to the 2nd of August) and another eight in the Final Series (from the 3rd to the 5th of August).
