After lunch, the awards ceremony put an end to this year's Diada.

The Premio Mestre Miquel Llompart that highlights each year the life trajectory of people linked to lateen sailing this year has been Guillermo Amengual, shipowner of Portixol and regular sailor in the Diada with his boat Annika. Amengual has a driving force behind traditional sailing in Mallorca from decades ago.

The mayor pointed out at the end of his visit that “The Club Nàutic of Cala Gamba is an example of how to manage both sport and heritage and training. Today, an event that has 2 editions like the Diada de Vela Latina demonstrates the effort of the entity in this aspect. It is necessary to value and defend what yacht clubs do, rooted in society and in the city. All the support we can give them is an obligation and not an option to do so".
