None of the big names in a class that will make its Olympic debut in Paris are missing from the entries. More than 200 windsurfers from over 45 countries from all continents will face a key World Championship, with a country place at stake for each category in the case of the European nations and many countries still waiting to decide their representative in the Olympic event.

Among the 120 competitors in the men's category is the "iqfoiler" of the Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita and Spain's representative at the next Olympic Games, Nacho Baltasar, who will face the Dutch Luuc van Oppzealnd -vigent world champion-, the German Sebastian Koerdel -sub-champion-, the Italian Nicolo Renna or the French Nico Goyard, who are among the favorites for the intercontinental title.

The sub21 Nacho Baltasar will be in Lanzarote, along with the sailor from Club Nàutic S'Arenal, Bernat Tomàs, and the rest of the men's team formed by Fernando Lamadrid, Sandro Portune, Guillem Segú, Alex Martí and Jorge Aranzueque.

In the Women’s team, with 98 participants, Spain also counts with the ticket to Paris but without a decided representative, this World Championship and the Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca by Iberostar are regattas of observation. Pilar Lamadrid, Nicole Van Der Velden, are the “iqfoilers” of the Club Nàutic S’Arenal Andrea Torres and Bárbara Winau, Enrichetta Bettini and Julia Gómez, are as well part of the team.
