The frigate 'Canarias' performs flag-lowering at the port of Mahón

The frigate 'Canarias (F86)' of the Santa María class of the Spanish Navy is currently making a stopover at the port of Mahón, according to port sources.

This Wednesday, March 5th, the solemn flag-lowering ceremony took place at the Naval Command of the port, in the presence of the political and military authorities of Menorca.

This same month, the frigate will undergo a thorough evaluation in the waters of the Gulf of Cádiz with the goal of ensuring that it maintains its operational capacity at the highest level.

The frigate 'Canarias' participates in international operations, such as the one last April which saw it liberating a ship hijacked by pirates in the waters of Somalia.
