The Government recognizes that L'Embat is a solution to the staffing needs of the marine industry

The President of the Government, Margalida Prohens, accompanied by the Minister of Enterprise, Employment and Energy, Alejandro Saenz de San Pedro, and Antoni Vera, Minister of Education and Universities, today visited the facilities, groups of students and teachers of the Vocational Training Center L'Embat, located in the Son Castelló industrial estate, which today has about 90 students who are specializing in boat maintenance.

"This center is a clear example that the Government is committed to quality training, to facilitate the path to the labor market, to give new opportunities to young people in the islands," said the President of the Government. "With specialized training as, for example, which is taught in L'Embat, we respond to the needs of one of the key sectors for the Balearic economy, as is the nautical; we prepare students to develop a profession currently in high demand, and facilitate the occupation of jobs that are difficult to fill," she added.

The CIPF L'Embat began its activity in November 2023, after suffering a delay of about 7 years. The head of the Executive, Marga Prohens, along with the councilors, has toured the different classrooms and work areas of the building and has exchanged impressions with the management team of the center, teaching staff and students, who are currently studying one of the two training cycles underway: a Basic FP leading to the basic professional title in maintenance of sports and recreational boats, or the Middle Grade to obtain the title of Technician in Maintenance of Recreational Boats.

In addition, from April the center will begin to teach two certificates of professionalism: one of auxiliary maintenance operations of structural elements and coating of boats (240 hours), and other maintenance and installation of generation systems, accumulation of electrical energy, electric motors and installation of distribution systems (320 hours). The objective of the Govern is to expand the training offer of this center with new nautical qualifications, to take advantage of the capacity it has for more than 300 students.
