The Guardia Civil carried out the rescue of a sailor who was trapped by the gate of a recreational boat, anchored in the bay of Cabrera.

Guardia Civil who were at the scene reported that special machinery was needed to free the leg of the sailor, trapped by a heavy gate of the boat, so they contacted the firefighters of Llucmajor so that one of them, with appropriate tools, was transferred with a mountain specialist in the Guardia Civil helicopter.
Once landed on the island, a Civil Guard Maritime Service boat transferred the two specialists to the boat where the injured man was located, where a Red Cross nurse was assisting him.
Using a special tool, they began to lift the gate, while wedges were placed to prevent it from rolling back, which freed the trapped man's leg. Once he had received initial treatment, he was taken to the place where the helicopter had landed for evacuation to the Son Espases hospital, where he was admitted.
