The Ibiza JoySail puts in motion its fourth edition

The Organizing Committee of the Ibiza JoySail, made by the STP Shipyard Palma and Marina Ibiza, have announced the dates of the regattas of the super yachts Ibiza JoySail for the next year, which will be held the 19th to the 22nd of September of 2024.

This will be the fourth edition of the Ibiza JoySail, a regatta that has been growing from its launch date since 2021, in which four boats participated, until 2023 where there have been thirteen.

From this year the Ibiza JoySail has become an invitational regatta, due to the large interest generated. It is for this reason that the organization has decided to put a number of maximum boats that can be registered, so that the competition continues to be exclusive both at sea and on land, and also to give the best for the ships and the participating crews.

In the recently finished third edition of the Ibiza JoySail, the invited special class has been the J Class, which also has served as a final race of the Kolher Cup with the victorious winner Svea, who became champion both in the regatta and the yearly circuit.

Furthermore the J Class, the other categories have been Performance, with the winner Swan 115, Moat, absolute winner in the three editions and holder of the record between Palma and Ibiza. The Cruising Performance victorious was Swan 80, Dark Horse, pioneer next to Moat participating in the three editions of the Ibiza JoySail and in the World Cruising champion was the Dystra 111, Aurelius.

On the other hand, the category Corinthian in the three modalities of Performance, Cruising and World Cruising, have been an important value to take into account in the Ibiza JoySail. This regatta consists of attracting shipowners that have that tickle for the competition, but don’t want to modify their boat nor to have extra crew and material. In this category the winners were Kiboko Tres in SW 105, Y7/0 in Performance, Shambho in Performance Cruising and Aurelius in World Cruising.

It is important to point out the participation for the first time of two Spanish super yachts like Kiboko Tres and the Custom 99, Alarife 100.

September of 2024, from the 19th to the 22nd, the ‘pituisas’ waters will host the fourth edition of the Ibiza JoySail, a regatta of reference of the end of season of the super yachts in the Mediterranean.
