The Ibiza JoySail superyacht regatta has become an essential event for large sailing yachts and is already preparing invitations for its next 2025 edition. From September 18 to 21, the jewels of the sea that already took part in the fourth edition and new additions to the fleet, will meet again in the waters of Pitiusas to compete in one of the most prestigious regattas of the international circuit, organized by STP Shipyard Palma and Marina Ibiza.

Since the beginning of the event last September, exciting sailing trials were held for the eighteen participating superyachts. The vessels sailed the waters of Ibiza and Formentera facing shifting winds and challenging courses, being able to circle Formentera, the natural park of the island of Espardell, and the magical island of Es Vedrá on different days.
Clive Walker, captain of Gelliceaux, commented on the quality of sailing on the first day: "It was a formidable day, fit for an advertisement. We performed some good maneuvers, it was a wonderful day."
For his part, Luis Doreste, tactician on Morgana, explained upon arrival at the port that "if the race on the first day of Ibiza JoySail was good, this second one was even better. Very good wind conditions, which we are delighted with."
Despite the poor weather conditions on the third day of the regatta, the sporting spirit prevailed with recreational but also competitive activities on land, which reinforced the camaraderie among the crews.
Nacho Postigo, Race Director, commented that "This regatta is not just action on the water, there's a great combination of activities on water and land, and people really seem to like it. We've had a couple of evening events, which have been a great success, and moreover, it's incredible that there is a great interaction between all the boats. Here we are all 'family & friends'."
After an intense and final day of sailing, where the five classes competed at the highest level, the participants gathered at the hospitality area to celebrate the achievements of the regatta, and the Ibiza JoySail concluded with an exciting awards ceremony.
In addition to recognizing the winners in each category (Moat, Gelliceaux, Open Season, Bliss, and L'Hippocampe), the Perpetual Trophy was awarded to S/Y Maximus for its outstanding journey between Punta Cala Figuera, Mallorca, and the island of Tagomago, Ibiza, setting the absolute record of 3 hours and 31 minutes.
Tony Rey, tactician of Maximus, participating for the first time in the Ibiza JoySail: "Apart from the fact that Ibiza is one of the most spectacular sailing locations in Europe and almost in the world, this is my first time at Ibiza JoySail, and it's magnificent. Our team loves it, our owner has a great time, the parties are fun... It has everything you could ask for. The Ibiza JoySail has delivered every day, and we look forward to coming back next year."
Juan Entrecanales, owner of Alarife Cien, the only Spanish supermaxi in competition, shared his enthusiasm to return again to the regatta: "We are delighted to be here, the organization of Ibiza JoySail outdoes itself each year and besides the magnificent atmosphere on land, the level and quality of the fleet is very high. We are enjoying it immensely and will come back next year."
Leading companies in the nautical sector such as North Sails, RigPro, Global Yachting, Repsol, Monzó Yacht Painting, and Yacht Moving have provided on-site technical and logistical support, necessary to give the best service to the vessels in case of any kind of need or emergency repair.
The technical team on the water is also composed of prestigious professionals and sailors led by Nacho Postigo and essential to making Ibiza JoySail a reality, supported by RCNP (Real Club Náutico de Palma) and CNI (Club Náutico de Ibiza), ORC, and Syra (Superyacht Racing Association).
Tequila Don Julio, Lio Cabaret, and Roto Club were the perfect partners to offer participants a taste of the vibrant nightlife and gastronomy of Ibiza.
The fourth edition of Ibiza JoySail has been a resounding success, exceeding all expectations and including the largest vessel seen so far in the regatta (60m in length). This event experienced four days of intense competition and an unparalleled festive atmosphere. The hospitality program, designed for almost 500 people, was also a real challenge, overwhelmingly surpassed.
