These last few days, the regatta "Olympic Week Comunitat Valenciana" has been contested in the waters of Valencia, in which two skippers from the Finn class belonging to the Ibiza Yacht Club participated. The tenth Comunitat Valenciana Olympic Week (CVOW) closed its first series of races yesterday, February 2nd, with the Royal Yacht Club of Valencia hosting the event, which kicked off last Friday, January 31st.

The Finn, Snipe, and Vaurien classes have inaugurated this sporting event, organized by the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community, which will gather more than 22 Olympic and pre-Olympic classes between the RCN Torrevieja, CN Santa Pola, RCN Valencia, and RCR Alicante until next March 2nd.

Adrián Bedoya and Alejandro Cardona were the representatives from Ibiza in the tenth edition. Bedoya shone throughout the competition, starting third on the first day of competition to finish second. Cardona finished third in the Master class and eighth overall.

The day was marked by a lack of wind. With gusts that barely reached 6 knots, the crews had to maximize their technique in the only race that could be completed despite the wait.

With this, the Comunitat Valenciana Olympic Week has awarded the first titles of its tenth anniversary, where renowned national sailors have climbed the medal table.

In the Finn class, after six complete races, the gold went to Galicia with Miguel Fernández (R.C.N. Coruña). Despite scoring a DNC in yesterday's race, his five consecutive victories allowed him to discard the race from yesterday and proclaim himself the undisputed leader in the Finn class. The silver went to the Balearic Islands with Adrián Bedoya (C.N. Ibiza), and the bronze stayed in Valencia thanks to the second place obtained by Andrés Lloret (R.C.N. Valencia).
